A Little Bit About Me...

I'm a graduated student from Purdue University with a BS in Speech Pathology and Audiology (SLHS). Between my time in both high school and college, my GPA never dropped below a 3.0. Both settings of education included years of math and science, and in high school four years of writing, English, and history. Volunteer work has been essential since high school, helping teachers, the elderly, disabled, and churches. Psychology is one of my top subjects! B.A. degree in Psychology, as well as experience working on a mental health hospital unit.

I am currently a senior at Indiana Univeristy Kokomo. I will graduate in spring 2013 with a B.A. in Psychology and minors in Leadership Studies as well as International Studies/Relations. My college coursework has a focus on psychology but my degree requires me to have a very liberal education, as such, I have taken classes in english, history, sciences, economics, government, and many others. I have tutored students for many of the college science classes. I have also been a tutor for an elementary school in Bloomington. I am also an experienced test prep tutor, having helped students prepare for everything from class tests to the GED, SAT, and ACT.
I have learned that the best way to teach is to let the student know how much you enjoy the subject and then work to make them feel the same way. I like to be friendly with them while still being an authority figure where they want to do their best. I think this type of relationship allows me to push the students to their maximum limit without discouraging them when we're having a difficult session.
