First teaching job was in a school for severely autistic children. After being there for a year I taught in a residential home for boys. This was challenging but probably one of my favorite jobs as a teacher. Because of the distance from home to work (about 1-1/2 hrs.), I applied at an urban school 20 minutes from my home. A Little Bit About Me...

Currently, I work at a learning center, where I tutor students at a 3:1 ratio in beginning reading, academic reading, math, and writing. I also tutor a 2nd grade dyslexic student once a week, and a 3rd and 5th grade student in math. I am very passionate about tutoring and love seeing the difference I make in each student's life.

I am a recent graduate of the University of Hartford. I have a dual certification in Special Education and Elementary Education. A Little Bit About Me...

A Little Bit About Me...

When I taught sailing to young kids, I used to dress up like a pirate. I have lots of energy. I know I'm doing my job right when kids start laughing. When I taught to teenagers, I kept in mind my own experiences at that age.
