A Little Bit About Me...

I was enrolled in the Master's Program for Elementary Education at the University of Florida and volunteered over 300 hours in the public school system. I have only one year left before obtaining my advanced degree should I decide to return to school. I have also been a tutor and mentor for at-risk youth. I have volunteered with the public library and used to spend one day a week reading to children in foster homes. As a high school student, I spent time volunteering for a developmental learning center working with children who had mild to severe handicaps. While I found it to be a physically, as well as mentally, demanding job, I also found it to be quite rewarding. During college, I found a new appreciation for educators, and a desire to become one. I started working for Mad Science in December of 2008 teaching kids science. Most of the work that I do is contained within a classroom with between ten and twenty children at a time, grades 1-5, teaching fun, hands-on style science.
