I graduated cum laude from the University of California, Irvine with a BA in history and minors in biology and psychology. Earning a history degree required me to write several essays, including a thirty-page research paper, and this experience made me a better writer (and eventually, a better teacher). I first started teaching in 2003 as a substitute to supplement the income from my guiding business during the slower portion of the year.
