I love teaching because it allows me to connect with youth. I find them very humorous. Some work hard, while others not so much, but either way, a teacher can learn so much from their student. Working in educatuion is a challenge I enjoy, especially when I see how well a student progresses. In May of 2004 I graduated from a small liberal arts college in Tacoma, Washington. I majored in English with an emphasis in writing. A Little Bit About Me...

I believe in Howard Garner's theory of teaching to the student style of learning. They are as follows: Visual, Auditory, Musical, Kinesthetic, Interpersonal and Intrapersonal. As I work with the student and get to understand their abilities and limitations I develop a style that will work the best for that particular student.
I have worked with students of all grade levels from volunteering at the Cocopah Head Start preschool to working with high school students as a substitute teacher. A Little Bit About Me...

Education is very important to me. Just recently, I have graduated with honors and magna cum laude from Old Dominion University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry. My undergraduate GPA in college was 3.95 and my High School GPA was a 3.98. In the past four years, I have taught Organic Chemistry and Biochemistry laboratory. I have also tutored students in chemistry and statistics in the past. Math and science are areas that I am very passionate about. In every class that I've taken, I have helped my peers to grasp the material by spending additional time in "study groups". My future plans are to practice Pediatric medicine and I will be attending medical school in Fall 2011.
