I am a retired public school teacher with over 25 years of experience. I have also A C T coached approximately 2000 students over the past 17 years. Many of those students attend the top tier colleges, earning admission and scholarships based on an A C T score above 30. I have developed my own materials which are highly effective. I am only interested in working with students who are hard-working and motivated. Students often travel from surrounding states and counties to enroll in my boot camp or weekly sessions. My daughter and husband are physicians at UW Hosptial so now I’m in a position to offer summer classes in the Madison area. My comments on tutoring ACT : Math and Science portions only!

Very much based on working with what the student knows. I tend to start by having them explain to me what they are doing and what they think. I then provide some guidance and walk through a sample problem with them. I ask that they try another problem like it on their own and ask questions to prompt them as they work.
I started tutoring in high school for extra credit. I have primarily tutored in mathematics and general chemistry! I tutored a girl in Algebra 1 for a year, helped my best friend and her Mom with college mathematics, and worked through college algebra with my husband. In college I was a teachers assistant for general chemistry 1 and tutored in quantitative chemical analysis. Since then I have tutored a gentlemen for the math portion of his GED.
