I also balance that with being completely comprehensive - I want them to understand their teachers, who may or may not be Deaf themselves. My goal is to be a mediator for the students i work with, and make the experience less stressful and more importantly, FUN!

A Little Bit About Me...

My teaching style begins with getting to know a student and their family. Knowing a student's personality and learning style can give me insight into how to engage them in lessons. I believe in integrating visual, auditory, and tactile lessons into a student’s learning experience in order to ensure that they have a full understanding. I prefer to facilitate (guide) learning so that a student can develop critical thinking skills they can use throughout their education. I believe patience, encouragement, and support are the most important elements for successful teaching and would love to tutor your child.
After years of working with the public, I returned to school to earn a BA in Early Childhood Studies. I chose this area of study with a concentration in special needs due to my love for all children. Upon graduation at CalBaptist University, I was honored to receive the “Outstand ... read more

I received my BS degree in Communications in 1974 and passed my CBEST test in December, 2008. I have been tutoring for over 6 months assisting a student rewriting her term paper. I have also tutored my grandson and younger daughter in high school and college math. I decided to enter tutoring and teaching after realizing how important education is while using my communications ability.
I have always enjoyed working with children and helping to direct paths thru life. I get along with children very well and am very patient. Children like adults have their strong subjects and weak ones and my style is try to find the strong points of children. It is important at what point a student lost their way, go back and help them get past that point. I want to make a difference in this small amount of time I have on earth.
