In law school I am a teaching assistant and my favorite part about working with students is finding out what a student's learning style is. Based upon the learning style they describe I adapt my teaching methods to best fit their style. I began teaching electronics, weapons safety, CPR, missile assembly and handling, and weapons handling certification in the military. My style is one of facilitation. Facilitating requires you to encourage the student to use their own understanding as much as possible. I usually use a multiplicity of approaches to help the student better understand the big picture and keep their perspective. I encourage the student to look at the problem with a logical perspective and estimate of what is happening in general terms as a reference point for when they are making their calculations.
