I have always had a strong drive for educational excellence. My two degrees have helped me become successful in my career as an Operations Manager for an international, multi-million dollar company. While earning my BA in Liberal Studies I have increased my grammatical skills while writing many research papers for an array of subjects. My MBA has allowed me to develop better analytical skills and improve my “out-side-the-box” thinking. Both degrees have helped me become a more confident public speaker.
I have always had a desire to work with children. I have had the opportunity to mentor children while coaching youth sports, tutoring one-on-one, and interning at an elementary school. I am extremely patient, easy to work with and understand that all people have different learning styles. My goal is to guide your student to success and I believe it can be achieved through dedi ... read more

All children have the ability to learn, however some children simply need to be taught in a different way. In law school I am a teaching assistant and my favorite part about working with students is finding out what a student's learning style is. Based upon the learning style they describe I adapt my teaching methods to best fit their style. Children don't usually know what their learning style is, so I also enjoying figuring out what methods best suit them--be it auditory, visual, or kinesthetic.

I have worked at an advanced level at Columbia University. Columbia has the most extensive core curriculum in the Ivy League meaning that I have one of the most well-rounded educations in the world. All students can learn, but in different ways. I, for one, learn best by watching how something is done. I can read about it, or hear a lecture about it, but seeing it helps me understand the subject. This type of teaching would be done with movies, drawing or acting out the situation. In my teaching, I try to use all methods available to me to help the students learn and to use their creativity. I especially try to get students to work in groups and to share their work with each other. I find that pier groups provide the best help in understanding the subject matter. The classroom should be a learning place of activities and fun.
