Children can understand visually, verbally or in written form. Each child has different ways of understanding a particular subject and it is important to find out how the child wants to be tutored very early. My style is to have a candid discussion with the child in order to ascertain why the child is having problems with a particular subject and how that child expects to be able to be taught. Tutoring a child supports regular teaching and that is the serivce I can provide. I can do it at th child's home or any other location suggested by the child's parents.

My comments on tutoring Chess : Chess skill comes from much experience in both winning and losing games (obviously). Yet there ARE winning principles that are not generally known. After I completed high school with a 4.0 GPA I was hired at a professional tutoring school. There I worked for nearly 10 years with a loyal student base many of whom I taught the entire time.
