Patience is one word to describe my teaching style. My main objective is to work with students on goal-setting and then concentrate on how to meet those goals. My teaching experience includes several semesters of substitute teaching, and tutoring locally for 2+ years as a part-time job, dirived from volunteering as a tutor for family members and friends. As a tutor, it is my job to help students with whatever it is they are struggling in and turn their struggles to successes. I specialize in working with those who want to become better readers - comprehension, fluence, vocabulary, phonics and spelling are all key to becoming a better reader.

I have been working with students in a reading program at a Title I school for 2 years; working with second language students teaching them the English language. I have taught Math and Science for 4th and 5 grade using the Foss system. The Science program was a hands on experiments, writing and keeping a science notebook. Evaluations were given at the end of each lesson segment involving the Foss Systems. Taught 3rd grade all subject for 5 years teaching all subjects. I have been recognized for classroom management above expectations for the school. Students were taught with creativity and experience using hands on manipulatives and differenciated lessons.
