A Little Bit About Me...

I love teaching. While I have also been a counselor and administrator, I managed to be able to at least tutor along the way, with a few exceptional years. I found that children were especially responsive to me, so I often found myself with elementary children (who, under my tutelage, managed to "catch up" an/or improve their grade point average -- often to their parents' delight). Since I love learning, children and teens "catch" my enthusiasm, and invariably get caught up with my honest excitement about a suject. Learning is a terrific discovery process, and mastery of data and sills makes one far more confident. I love helping people who are learning in a field that I love. I chose to go into accounting while I was still in high school and I haven't had a regret yet. It's a very useful skill to have and I've found it to be in demand and very versitle over the years. I enjoy trying to find new ways to explain things to people, it's a challenge. For the past 2 years since graduating from the University of Oregon I have been working full-time as Psychosocial Rehabilitator within the educational environment of various elementary and secondary schools. I currently manage a Therapeutic Learning Center focused on behavioral modification within the Special Education Department of a local high school. I have a unique approach to teaching because my background is both analytical (numbers and science) and imaginative (theater and literature). While classroom training is my forte, I also have a solid background in teaching online. This combination is particularly useful since no two children learn in the same way. I do not believe any student is dumb. If he or she has struggled picking up a concept, it is more likely because the right method of teaching has not yet been explored. A Little Bit About Me...

I have spent the last five years attaining my BS in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Idaho. Throughout those four years I have had several opportunities to help out by mentoring young students.
