I usually tutor one on one and in small groups. I work with a variety of students, grades k-8, some who have learning disabilities, some who have physical disabilities, and others who are academically behind. In all cases, I believe in positive reinforcement and keeping my students motivated and excited to learn. A Little Bit About Me...

While I have been working on my Elementary Education degree I have had the opportunity to teach young children. I have also spent the last two semesters taking methods classes, learning to teach different subjects. I have spent many years babysitting, 2 years teaching an 18 month old basics (counting, abc's, colors, phrases) and eventually complete sentences. For a year I worked with a 4th grader helping with homework and tutoring her in reading and spelling. I have also spent 2 summers working with a 2nd/3rd grader on spelling, basic English concepts, sentences, and reading.
I really enjoy working with children, primarily in the lower grades. I am patient, caring, and easy going. Positive reinforcement, motivation and encouragement are what I believe in. Finding the extra way to explain a task or principle is rather beneficial.
