Students learn with a variety of learning methods. Some students are more kinetic, while others are more auditory or visual. I think it is important for students to develop self- esteem and see themselves succeeding, and that is what I work on first including staying on task. I have always used Madeline Hunters guidelines for successful lesson plans, which includes using manipulatives to assist students in understanding concepts. My focus is on educational strategies such as rules of phonics, Spalding, a variety of reading and math programs to assist students in remembering what they are learning so that the student can complete their assignments and use in their future education.

I have earned a double degree, a BS in Special Education and a BS in Elementary Education. I have taught Special Education for 24 years in grades 1-8. I taught one year of Kindergarten.
