I have tutored for Title I Schools (k-8) in the Dysart School District since the beginning of 2008. I have also worked as a Special Ed assistant. I have experience working with students grade level k-8. I specialize in working with learning disabled students in the areas of language arts and reading. I enjoyed all four years of my teaching. I taught fourth, fifth and Physical Education. Prior to that I substituted for two years as well. During substituting for three school districts, I worked with kindergarten through twelfth grade and special education students. Tutoring and mentoring students are my specialty. Mathematics, reading and writing are the areas that I have tutored the most in.
Positive reinforcement, motivation and encouragement are what I believe in. Finding the extra way to explain a task or principle is rather beneficial. Children love to play games and I make teaching like a game for them, so they have a great time and they are learning. There is substantial information that suggests that children retain knowledge if they thoroughly understand it and if they are having fun learning it.
