My teaching style can best be described as varied! I believe that children learn in numerous ways, so as an educator it is my responsibility to provide multiple experiences - visual, oral, tactile, etc. A person walking by my classroom would see children smiling, working in groups, accomplishing projects, and would hear noise.
After graduating from Vanderbilt University I taught 5th grade for 2 years while working on my Master's at TSU. I then moved to the Knoxville area and taught K until my son was born in 2000. We then moved to Wisconsin where I taught in various after school programs until my 2 children were old enough for preschool. I then went back part time and taught 4 K until my 3rd child was born in 2005. Throughout this entire time I tutored various children ages 8 - 15 years if age.

My background in sociology and tutoring combined with my client service experience has provided me with a unique ability to understand and communicate across all age levels and learning types. Typically a stagnant learning experience is accelerated merely by another person being able to express the same statement in several possible ways. Personalities are dynamic and highly influence the way in which an individual understands and, more importantly, retains information. A Little Bit About Me...

I received a bachelors degree from The University of Memphis in integrative studies in the fall of 2009. Upon graduation, I was required to complete two semesters of student teaching. Also, during my four years of college, I tutored three different students, one in reading and the other two in English. From August 2009 through January 2011, I was employed at a child care facility where I was director but spent most of my time tutoring and assisting the after school kids with their homework and projects. My strongest subjects are English and Reading. However I'm qualified in all subjects kindergarten through sixth grade. I'm currently enrolled in graduate school at The University of Memphis.
