My comments on tutoring ADD/ADHD : Having been a classroom teacher for over 15 years, I have had many students diagnosed with ADD/ADHD or had IEPs. I know how to reach these students and help them be great students and enjoy school.

I have taught for many decades and use a variety of teaching styles since all students learn differently. I am more of a 'traditional' style teacher, realizing that the basics are vital. I am a visual learner myself, but realize that my students may not. I always teach so that all students learn..using visual,hands on, and auditory presentation of material. I am extremely thorough and endeavor to be sure my students have mastered a concept before moving on to more complex topics. I ALWAYS make what I am teaching relevant to the students...showing them how they will use what we are learning in a real life situation. I have a BS in Child development with a minor in phsychology and I was teaching for Head Start back before I finished my degree. I have since finished and I am looking to expand my range. I love math and it just comes easy for me. I have a background in Engineering and Calculas.

We began with division, quickly moving into linear and nonlinear algebra, before touching on the fundamentals of complex numbers, graph theory and trigonometry, before concluding with a derivation of the quadratic formula and its applications. A Little Bit About Me...

I have been caring for children of all ages for the last 9 years, which includes tutoring and metoring. I am also in my second year as a substitute teacher, in which I teach grades pre-k through 12th grade.
I believe that all children want and try to do their best, but sometimes need an extra push. I think it is necessary to use the appropriate curriculum, but to find out what teaching method works best for each student as we all learn differently.
