I have a BS in Child development with a minor in phsychology and I was teaching for Head Start back before I finished my degree. I have since finished and I am looking to expand my range. I love math and it just comes easy for me. I have a background in Engineering and Calculas.
I first make learning fun and exciting. As in past experience each child learns diffently and I need to be able to adapt to this. I first see what the level of the child is then work on the next step and help make sure the new level is learned as well as the old level is still maintained.

My first teaching experience was as a high school senior where I was given the opportunity to teach a small group of 5th graders as part of the Missouri A+ program. We began with division, quickly moving into linear and nonlinear algebra, before touching on the fundamentals of complex numbers, graph theory and trigonometry, before concluding with a derivation of the quadratic formula and its applications. A Little Bit About Me...

As a licensed professional counselor who has worked extensively with children and youth, I have realized there is a need for solid educational options to be given and opportunities for success. During my time as a staff member for a residential youth agency, I spent many hours working with the kids on their homework and helping them understand the material. I had my first novel published in April 2008 and continue to enjoy writing as a hobby, as well as a requirement for much of my work. I have a desire to see youth increase their skills in writing and reading and would like to combine this with areas they enjoy.
