A Little Bit About Me...

My teaching experience began in high school, when I would review and edit my classmates essays. On several occasions, I also went through essays line by line. In addition, I taught swim lessons to preschool aged children, and helped coach crew to high school aged students. Throughout college, I continued to aid my peers with their essays, and often participated in workshops outside of class. As a writer, I have extensively studied methods of teaching to English Language Learners, and native speakers alike. I have also conducted research in rhetoric studies and language acquisition. My B.S. in Elementary Education has provided twenty-five years of teaching in a wide range of experiences. I have taught K3-8 grade students, including those considered “at-risk” due to emotional and behavioral difficulties or learning differences, in traditional and outdoor classroom settings.
