As an undergraduate student I double majored in Biology and philosophy. Biology has provided me with a strong understanding in chemistry, biochemistry, ecology, evolution, and physics. I enjoy helping other people learn, and I get a sense of satisfaction when they grasp new information. I have tutored students needing help with homework assignments or studying for an exam. I requested that they bring their notes and textbook so that I use them as a reference when teaching. I can either answer specific questions or walk through the material. I ask the student questions about the material to make sure they understand the information completely. If the student is having trouble I will patiently go through the materials again until they fully understand the information. I enjoy working with students and helping them learn what can sometimes be difficult concepts in the scientific disciplines. I believe that all students have the ability to understand these concepts if they are presented in ways that they find interesting. I like to use multiple techniques when teaching, including the use of computer programs such as PowerPoint to show diagrams, pictures, graphs and short videos to illustrate the key points and concepts involved in a lesson. I like to challenge the students with questions and exercises that focus on these key points.
