My comments on tutoring Algebra : I did very well in Algebra 1 and 2 as a middle school and high school student, and have also taken college algebra. I've mentored students in elementary-middle school math for a year in the public schools in Lincoln. Some of them were in pre-algebra or had algebra as part of their course.

I try to find out what a student is interested in and incorporate that. In my work with Lincoln Public Schools I often have extra time with students since we complete the required material more quickly than the general class, and I often use that for special projects that apply the concepts we're learning to fields like computer science, architecture, and art.
I've been a Mentor with Lincoln Public Schools for over a year. Mentors function as one-on-one teachers for gifted students in an area of their strength. I've taught math to elementary school students (many of whom were in middle-school level math) and am also qualified as a Chinese mentor for all levels and a Social Studies mentor. My comments on tutoring Algebra : High School Algebra 1 and 2 and currently in College Pre-Calculus

I don't really have a teaching style because I have never been an actual tutor before. But, I love helping people and I always helped my friends with homework, especially in math. I am not the kind of tutor who will just give you the answers, I like to make you think about the problem and come up with your own answer. If the answer is wrong, I will ask you to look again and see where you made mistakes and, if needed, I will point them out for you. I really want to help you learn and grow so, eventually, you won't need a tutor.

Teacher looking to help students learn to love math!

I feel that it is important to relate to students and make the learning experience about what they need. I like to get to know a student on a personal level so that I can better learn what's best for them as a studuent.
