My comments on tutoring Reading : I have student teaching experience in the elementary school setting.

My teaching style incorporates all learning styles, because I am a firm believer that we all learn differently. I am a very patient and passionate teacher. Being excited about the subject is key to being a successful teacher. However, I expect my students to be motivated and to give 100 percent effort to their studies.
I studied Elementary Education during my undergraduate. During this time, I was a student teacher on several different occasions. A Little Bit About Me...

I am currently in my first year teaching in Indianapolis. I am a licensed Biology teacher although I have a strong math and science background. I would love to have an opportunity to work with students on a one-on-one basis.

A Little Bit About Me...

After graduating from Purdue University in 2003 I was fortunate to have myriad teaching experiences with students of varied skill and income levels. I started my career in elementary education but quickly found a love for middle school where I began teaching English in 2004. I thoroughly enjoy working with a student on the craft of writing and seeing them bloom as an author. Their writing skills can open so many doors for them as they become adults and I enjoy being a part of that learning process.
All children can learn. When I meet a student there is never an issue of him or her being unable to improve. It is simply a matter of finding their motivation and highlighting their strengths. I obtained Secondary Teacher Certification in Social Sciences. I taught high school and middle school Spanish for two and half years at public schools, and completed my student teaching at an alternative school for juvenile criminals. I was an at home teacher for my school district when children were out for extended periods due to illness. I have completed additional continuing education in working with gifted and special needs children. I enjoy sharing my passion for learning with others and love to see the “light” come on when a student finally understands a concept.
I believe making the information relevant to the student is important. I like to use humor and real-life examples to keep students engaged. I believe that it is important to know how the child learns to be able to present the material to them in the best manner for them which is what I would base my style on.
