I have tested at least 4 grade levels above my grade level since I began taking standardized tests. I have the ability to disect subjects in a way that makes learning fun and understandable. I like to get to know each individual and find out how they learn. From there I can figure out what will work for them and what won't.

Unless a person feels that they can be successful they often give up, so I make it a point to raise student confidence while teaching new writing skills. Very few people are natural writers as it is a skill that must be developed. There are many different ways to do that, and none of them should be boring or painful; although all of them will take hard-work and a willingness to try new writing techniques. I obtained Secondary Teacher Certification in Social Sciences. I taught high school and middle school Spanish for two and half years at public schools, and completed my student teaching at an alternative school for juvenile criminals. I was an at home teacher for my school district when children were out for extended periods due to illness. I have completed additional continuing education in working with gifted and special needs children. I enjoy sharing my passion for learning with others and love to see the “light” come on when a student finally understands a concept. I believe making the information relevant to the student is important. I like to use humor and real-life examples to keep students engaged.
