Given the right atmosphere, I honestly believe anyone can learn. Unfortunately, many individuals are given labels, especially regarding their learning capacity, and once that belief system is in place, the expectations are often lowered and self-esteem suffers. I believe in positive encouragement and support, while working through difficulties with a 'can do' attitude on my part which then becomes, with reinforcement and consistency, the belief of the child. A Little Bit About Me...

I am a valedictorian candidate, graduating with a degree in English. My background in English is both technical, focusing on classics in British and early American literature, while my position as editor of the Sierra Nevada Review, an annual publication of poetry, affords me a creative grasp of writing. I am also the assistant coordinator of the Sierra Nevada Tutoring Center.
