Life Science is one of my top subjects! I have completed coursework in all types of life sciences classes.

I completed coursework in several biology and chemistry classes. This coursework included labs and field work. The biology labs I have experience in include: Zoology, Ecology, Freshwater Biology, Insect, and Fish Biology. These labs were highly detailed and included all levels of dissections, identification of species using taxonomic keys, and microscope work. The field work included species colllection, mapping, and sample collection. Lab reports and field notes were required as part of the labs. The seminars for these courses involved all aspects of biology and life sciences. The exams for these courses were involved and would require 2-5 page essays on biological systems. My teaching style is based on my belief that my purpose is that the student learn the material. If that means backtracking and presenting the material in a different manner or using more examples then that is what I will do. Especially in math and accounting, the building blocks must be solid in order to advance so I do concentrate on each step being strong.
My parents were both educators and my daughter is a professor, so I can say in all honesty that education has been a most important aspect of my life. I have been very successful as a college instructor and a tax school teacher. I find that teaching children is a wonderful and life changing job. That helping a child learn any subject is easy when the teacher understands they are their for the benefit of the child not necessarily seeing it as 'work'. Each child learns differently at different paces and to maximize their potential the teacher must conform to their needs. Through understanding of what is being asked, repetitive problems/assignments to master the subject and then a brief and often review of the subject that the child is weakest in proves to be an excellent way of presenting information also.

My teaching style with younger children is to have a relaxed setting where no pressure in placed upon the student. I'm always sure to review my material before going into a new lecture. When a student is not understanding the material I try to use many methods for then to gain a better understanding. When I was younger it was easier for me to understand information if I can relate it to my life, so I will apply the same methods with teaching others.

During college, I swam varsity, an experience that taught me the patience and time management required to balance a rigorous academic schedule with the physical strain of a full-time sport. Later, I found that my personality and ability to work well with others was more helpful out of the water. During my 4th year, I coached the club swim team, and then moved up to assistant coaching the varsity team during my 5th year.
