My experiences during and after college have been crucial to realizing my skill and joy in tutoring and teaching. I was fortunate enough to attend a small, liberal arts college which allowed me to constantly experience small group learning environments. In addition, my first work experience out of college was an in intensive tutoring job in Boston, MA. I was placed with 5 students in the seventh grade and tutored full time in a middle school. A Little Bit About Me...

While attending the University of Massachusetts at Lowell I work to help other students that were having difficulty understanding the material presented. I obtained a bachelor of science in Civil Engineering, with a concentration in Structural Analysis. The course work gave me a very strong understanding of Mathematics, and Physics. Also, the quantity of lab reports I have written has given me an advantage in writing non-technical reports along with technical reports. I have worked as a college math privately and through other companies.
My teaching style is very simple and I believe it is effective. I have found that going through problems does not always help kids learn. I always try to tutor the basics and establish a plan for problem solving. The children need to know how to attach a problem not how to plug numbers into equations.
