A Little Bit About Me...

I have learned that all students learn differently. I am patient and like to determine how the student learns first so I can better assist them. It is hard to make math fun but I try to show students the real world applications of math and do hands on activities. My goal is to provide ensight to students so that they can become successful adults.

As a student in high school, I became fascinated with Chemistry and went on to earn a BS in Chemistry. The position I landed after school dealt with additives in rubber and plastics, so eventually I went on to earn a MS degree in Polymer Science. This helped me to land a better position. When the recession hit around 2000 and I lost my job, I determined to learn more about computers and summarily earned two AA degrees while working first part-time and later full-time in the computer field. I love teaching and I like to teach using examples. I like to present the material in a variety of ways with the knowledge that some students are visual learners and some benefit more from verbal examples.
