I have been signing since before I could talk. I have loved English since I was in middle school. I went to college with the desire to graduate with a degree in English Education, but realized (after almost three years in this program) that the education program at my school was completely disorganized. I decided to drop education and pursue a degree in solely English with a special interest in literature. I have also starred in two plays that my church put on- one that required only actions and another that had a multitude of lines and musical sections. As for Sign Language, I have an aunt who was born deaf. Because of that, I started learning simple signs before I could talk. I love working with children of all ages. I can say I am patient enough to deal with elementary students being that I've done so before. I love to have fun with learning and can bring the fun of learning to the classroom. I want the students to want to learn and that is what I am going to bring to the table. Children's church is where a year of my experience comes from. I would guide a group of children during the service and would spend individual time with those who wanted to brush up on their reading and writing. I graduated from Hampton University with a BS in Molecular Biology and my love for science pushed me to pursue a MS in Medical Science. I have tutored at Hampton University in the areas of Organic Chemistry, General Chemistry, Biochemistry, Physical Science, and General Biology. My experience includes two years of full time teaching at the PreK level. I also have experience working with grade level students through practicums, student teaching, and substitute teaching. I have assisted teachers with middle school students during a summer technical program as well. I currently hold a M.S. in Education specializing at the Elementary grade levels.
