My name is Caitlin and I have a B.A. in American Sign Language from Gardner Webb University. Prior to graduating I came back to virginia beach for an externship working in the public schools with a variety of interpreters. My last semester I came back and had an internship where I was a teacher assistant for my professor who was Deaf where I graded papers and tutored students for upcoming tests.

I love working one on one with students. I enjoy relating science to real day events and showing students how to think out of the box. I teach using neumonics, songs and repetition. I believe that science is one of the most important subjects because it teaches you how the world around you works. Most people believe that teachers chose the wrong profession and I think that society chose the wrong heros. I graduated from Hampton University with a BS in Molecular Biology and my love for science pushed me to pursue a MS in Medical Science. I have tutored at Hampton University in the areas of Organic Chemistry, General Chemistry, Biochemistry, Physical Science, and General Biology. Children's church is where a year of my experience comes from. I would guide a group of children during the service and would spend individual time with those who wanted to brush up on their reading and writing. I enjoyed every minute of this experience and can say I made an impact in those children's lives. I love working with children of all ages. I can say I am patient enough to deal with elementary students being that I've done so before. I love to have fun with learning and can bring the fun of learning to the classroom. I want the students to want to learn and that is what I am going to bring to the table.

Completing my four years at Savannah College of Art and Design, has helped me to reinsure myself that I am capable of completing all of my goals that I set for myself. The creative skills that I have had instilled in me have also been acknowledged and rewarded. I have received my Bachelor degree in Fashion as well as in Art.
