This might be my first year teaching, but that does not take away from my passion or excitement for teaching! I love kids, I most of all love seeing that “ah ha” moment on their faces! This is my first year as a 3rd grade teacher. Previously I was a substitute teacher and taught all grades. I was also a teacher through a summer program locally; Here I taught students how to work, how to save money and then helped them get their first job. Through another employer, I worked closely with two students to improve grade performance in writing and math. Also, I have worked as a group facilitator for about six months where I taught adults basic living skills and tutored them to help them obtain a G.E.D. As a tutor with Webster University's student literacy corps, I worked with individuals, pre-K-adult, on reading, literacy, and writing skills. I held this position for two years along with a summer position tutoring Algebra and French with HEC Upward Bound, which service at-risk youth. I found both programs extremely enjoyable and found that all of my students were eager to learn and improve their skill set. It has been my experience that each student has his/her individuals needs and that each learns differently. Thus, I make a conscious effort to sit down privately with each of my students so that we can address his/her concerns effectively and put together a constructive plan to improve his/her skill set.

I have worked with children from preschool-12th grade both professionally and personally. I get along well with children, and try to hone in on a child's personality and how they learn best.
