Experience Summary
I am currently a graduate student in a Clinical Counseling Program. I graduated with my Bachelor's Degree in Psychology in 2002 with a 3.89 GPA, my current graduate GPA is 4.0. I have previously worked as a Substitute Teacher and Remedial Reading Tutor for fifth and sixth graders while in college. I have worked as a Sunday School Teacher and Youth Pastor for teenagers. I have ten years of public speaking experience and excellent communication skills. My writing skills are excellent and could work with students on a variety of issues concerning reading/writing.
Teaching Style
I have worked with children from preschool-12th grade both professionally and personally. I get along well with children, and try to hone in on a child's personality and how they learn best. (Visual, Learning by doing, Verbal) I also try to see what issues the child is having problems with - that could be not understanding what is required, or not having mastered certain skills that are necesary to build on to obtain the next level of achievement. I love to motivate and usually bring a reward to students - gum, temporary tattoos, or a cool pen or pencil.
