Reading is the Key to Success!

My teaching style is flexible. I create a lesson plan that is individualized and benficial to that of the student I am tutoring. I adapt and adjust the curriculum to what is of primary importance to my student.
I have worked in the field of education as a teacher for 30 years. I have taught basic skills in foundations of Reading to middle school students. It takes a trained professional to be able to lay out the framework children need to learn how to read. When students come in with questions, I will first ask them what subject is it for, does the teacher give out any guidelines about the assignment, and what difficulties you have with this assignment. A Little Bit About Me...

I just graduated with a BA in Psychology and are two courses short of a minor in Spanish and Sociology. I've always been very strong in the English/Language Arts/Writing areas as well. I am currently a certified substitute teacher and also already do some elementary tutoring. I have found that any student can learn. The key to a student's success is that education must be approached in the correct manner for that individual student. Not all students learn in the same fashion, and that must be considered in planning and implementing lessons. I believe that education needs to be approached in a fun way that coincides with the student's individual interests and learning styles.
