I consistently help my siblings with their homework (ages 5, 13, and 16), and have worked with after-school tutoring programs with friends. More About This Tutor...

I have learned a great deal about the various learning and teaching styles. I understand that some students learn better with hands-on instruction, while others are more auditory or visual learners. I truly have a passion for spreading my love of Spanish, and teaching other students the importance of the language, and all of the interesting cultural differences and similarities we have with Hispanic countries. I also have found that rather than force grammar in as a separate lesson, it is better received if taught in a practical use manner that augments a certain vocabulary list or point. I am also a strong supporter of the Gouin Series Method, which is a modified version of the direct method, for teaching grammar and vocabulary.

A Little Bit About Me...

I have over 3 years of teaching experience with Norfolk Public Schools as a Reading Teacher teaching regular education and special education students. I have over 1 year of tutoring experience working with students in small groups and on a one-on-one basis.
My teaching style includes utilizing tactile kinesthetic activities allowing students to learn using a hands-on experience while learning.
