I have taught in the public school systems for 40+ years. I retired when I hit the rule of 90, but found that I missed the kids. I then substitute taught in grades k - 12 for another 8 years to keep in contact with my profession.
I just start where the questions are and help guide them to where they can find the answers. There is no better feeling than the feeling you get when a student has that light bulb go off and they finally catch on to a concept. If a student is learning new material or does not understand the way something was explained I will try to come up with an alternative method. A Little Bit About Me...

I am currently a medical student at the University of Minnesota Medical School Duluth. Before I started medical school I worked as a tutor for six years with two teenage boys with autism. Under the six years of my tutoring, both of these "disabled" kids were completely mainstreamed and even taking some AP and challenge classes. I believe that any kid can learn if they are taught in a way that is fun and structured. I tutored these kids in Math, Science, Social Studies and English. I also spent a semester as a Teaching Assistant in an upper level Philosophy course during my undergrad. Most of my TA tutoring was helping college students write papers.
