I have a talent for teaching and love to help students learn material in a way other than how it is traditionally taught. I believe everyone has a different learning style and it is important to teach in ways that a variety of students understand. My teaching style is hands on and provides visual and verbal information. A Little Bit About Me...

During my own college career, I have attained experience working with students as a tutor, teacher's assistant, and peer. I have always enjoyed working with students and feel that my work and coursework experience has adequately prepared me for this position. As a recent graduate from UCLA,I have taken mathematics courses ranging from Pre-Algebra to Calculus, including Statistics. My degree from UCLA was in Biology and so I am very comfortable working as a science tutor. A Little Bit About Me...

I believe that a big part of teaching is listening and observing. Not every student learns the same way, so it is important to be patient and try to understand what works best for the student. In many cases, examples are helpful in learning. Examples that are tailored to a specific student (e.g. drawing correlations to cooking for measurements, or sports for averages) can be a great basis for understanding concepts. I have done classroom teaching and one-on-one teaching. I prefer the one-on-one approach because it is so effective, and so satisfying for myself and the student when progress is made.
