My comments on tutoring ASVAB : I almost joined the military after college. I was in the Navy ROTC program for four years, and then decided at the last minute that I wanted to be an engineer in the private sector. However, before I realized that the ASVAB was not required to go into the ROTC program, I took it. I received a 98/100 score, which would have qualified me for any job I would have possibly wanted in the military. As far as the subject matter goes, the ASVAB is hardly any more difficult than the ACT or SAT. In fact, I would argue that it's a great deal easier. However, for those not knowing what to expect it can be intimidating, which is why most people make their mistakes on it. My goal is to help minimize the amount of mistakes that you (or your student) are prone to make on the ASVAB by instilling a familiarity for the subject matter, and helping the student get the best score possible!

Greetings one and all! My name is Tristan, and I am a recent graduate of the University of Florida's College of Engineering as of August 2012. I graduated with a Bachelor of Sciences degree in Nuclear Engineering and a cumulative GPA of 3.25 (and I will tell you that I earned every point of it). I am looking forward to using my knowledge and proficiency in various fields of math and science to make your four year slog through the rigors of academia as palpable as possible. I offer flexible hours, friendly demeanor, and a patient approach to tutoring that caters to your individual skill set. All of this comes at a reasonable price, which can of course be negotiated to suit your budget (remember, I was once a broke college student too). In short: I work with you, for you, and on your terms! I offer tutelage in many technical disciplines: Math, Science, and Engineering are my b ... read more

A Little Bit About Me...

For three years, I worked as academic aide and tutor for University of Montana Disabled Student Services. Upon graduation and then moving to Florida, I taught environmental science to students and adults of all ages and abilities as forester for Levy county. Currently, I am enrolled in a second Bachelor's degree in psychology.
My teaching style is focused on the assumption that my students are capable of reaching their greatest potential. I provide a comfortable learning environment, and expect my student to be at ease when working with me. It is incumbent upon me to discover the learning styles to which each of my students are most receptive. I expect greatness and use positive reinforcement when students deliver. I am always evaluating my work, looking for areas I can improve.

A Little Bit About Me...

Learning has always been fun to me. I love helping and teaching others, especially kids. My Godmother has been the Director for tutoring services for FCAT for many years so I’ve shadowed her majority of my life. While in high school I tutored her elementary students after school in basic algebra and science. We also tutored middle school students on Saturdays getting them prepared for FCAT. I tutored kids in reading and math, mostly math because I have a strong background in math and I’ve always excelled in the subject. We’ve made a great difference in improving FCAT scores, making learning more fun for students while building their confidence in their ability to learn challenging things.
I enjoy making learning fun for my students because it keeps them entertain and ready to learn. I like to find out what my students like and construct my teaching around that because it b ... read more

More About This Tutor...

Teaching is important to every individual no matter what age. The learning experience is never-ending. Children are very important to me as they are the future. Also if it weren't for my wonderful teachers I would have hated the academic process. It is important to note that no matter how far a student is behind nor how hard it is to recognize concepts I am beyond patient when explaining ideas and concepts. The personal approach is the most formative for an individual. When teaching elementary students it is important to in a stress free quiet environment where a student can be open to asking questions. I would identify specific students needs and formulate a stimulating and constructive approach to ensure their capabilities as students.
Although my undergrad degree is not the most prevailing, I have strong abilities in math. I have tutored many individuals throughout my life. My e ... read more
