Do you need help with the ASVAB? Then I can help you!

I can teach in a variety of ways. mainly by using ways to relate to the students understandings. I dont like the costant drilling techniques many people use. Some people learn more by constantly studying, while others study just enough to get an understanding. thats me.

I believe the teaching world is so wonderful because the process of learning is never-ending, for the teacher and the student. Teachers and students gain information from each other and therefore make the learning process meaningful and relateable. I believe strongly that adapting lessons to students' lives is the best way for students to better understand and discover not only the lesson taught, but also their world. A wonderful teacher will put all the professionalism, heart, and reflection they can into their students.

I am a firm believer that everyone has the ability to succeed in the right environment and under the guidance of the right tutor. As a result, I study each individual to find their potential, interest, and learning medium. After that, my role is to adapt my style and material to maximize the learning process, constantly raising the bar and challenging the student. Learning should be fun for both the teacher and the student. My role is to create a healthy milieu for learning. I bring high energy and enthusiasm to each situation.

I first started to study music when I was 11 years old. I grew a love for the clarinet and played for many years in middle school and high school. In college, I majored in clarinet and also studied all wind/percussion instruments as well as piano. I obtained my BA instrumental teaching degree (K-12) through Western Carolina University in June of 2003. Through the years, I have had the privilage and pleasure of teaching band in a classroom setting, marching band, and private lessons.
The reason I became a teacher was to transfer my love of music to my students and also to see the joy of their successes. There is nothing like seeing the smile of success on a students face. I care greatly for all students that I have taught and will teach.

I believe that a teacher should teach because he or she possesses a quest for learning, a passion for a particular subject, and is driven by a true calling and desire to inspire young and diverse minds. I believe that the learning environment is crucial for students’ understanding and intellectual growth, and I believe that teachers must contribute to the development of students’ curiosity and creativity. Teachers must always be open to new and improved forms of instruction, and he or she must explore various ways to inspire students. A teacher must also incorporate culturally responsive teaching into his or her instruction so that all students are capable of receiving similar instruction that respects their differences.

I do enjoy helping students with their problems. I have a technique of visualization. for example, which is the first example I use. I tell the student to think of a tree. in the seconds you think of a tree, you don't think of just the tree. you think of the roots, the trunk, the limbs, the branches, the leaves. then you think of whats going on in the tree, right down to the point of the tree taking in carbon dioxide and giving off oxygen and water. Why is the tree giving off water. most people do not know that the tree is making water because it is attaching hydrogen to the oxygen to get rid of the hydrogen, acid. I can apply this same visualization to almost anything.

A Little Bit About Me...

I enjoy teaching and working with students from age 4 through 40 and have worked with students throughout that range. I believe that patience, integrity and compassion are the best communicators to students, particularly in subjects they struggle with, and I believe that every student can succeed, if they are willing to make the effort. My goal is to adapt material and present information in the method the student can best understand and I strive for the flexibility to create a learning environment that is comfortable for each, individual learner. I am dedicated to providing the best possible learning experience for every student I work with, and to helping each student reach their full potential.
Since childhood, I have worked to help students improve their skills at reading, writing, public speaking or any other subject I could offer help with. In May, 2009, I received my BA in E ... read more

I seem to have worked in the education field from the very beginning. I started out in preschools, and most recently have been teaching at the college level. I have taught every age in between. I am very skilled at not only grammar, but also the elements of composition.
I always make the attempt to reach the individual, and praise each of my students, even in a classroom setting. I explain that I only know the person/student that he or she shows me. I have had tremendous success with, and great feedback from, my students. I believe that providing a positive, comfortable atmosphere, the student is better able to focus on the subject.
