Over the course of my undergraduate career, I have accumulated an ample amount of experience in both tutoring and research. I have tutored for various organizations in the university as well as private tutoring. Organizations include Supplemental Instruction and Thornton Athletic Student Life Center. I have been employed by these two facilities for over three years and I still currently work at the Thornton Athletic Center. I would describe my teaching style as being essentially constructivist. I strive to show students how the subject matter is relevant to them and help them see the benefit derived from mastering a subject area. I believe in inquiry based learning, or teaching any subject by incorporating the student's natural curiosity and drawing connections to their interests. I don't taking a long time to teach a student how to approach a single problem or concept and foster their understanding of the material so that they will understand how to approach the problem on their own. In other words, I put energy into explaining why they should do something so that they can reason through it themselves in a test situation.
