From my childhood to this present day, helping others has always been my passion. I like to help people with their problems, I would love to teach people about the things that I am good at. I am currently a student in University of Tennessee, and I work as a tutor in the Educational Advancement Program iat my college. I always try my best to teach people let them understand the course material. I would love to help you either online or meet in person. I am a statistics major, I took a lot of math in high school and college, and I have never had a score lower than an A in math. I am a native Chinese speaker, and I am going to college in the US. Since a child, I have always been curious of the world around me. My interests culminated with the completion of two degrees in the natural sciences. I consider myself a true inter-disciplinarian, supplementing both my degrees with courses in applied sciences, economics and the arts, to improve my understanding of the connections between science and the world. A Little Bit About Me...

I worked for 16 years as a high school science and math instructor at a small school which necessitated that I teach all the courses in the 9-12 curriculum in rotation. These courses included all levels of mathematics, biology, chemistry and physics. I qualified to teach AP courses and wrote a number of integrated curriculum for my school district. I also tutor in the school's tutoring center because many of the students need the additional assistance.
I would describe my teaching style as being essentially constructivist. I strive to show students how the subject matter is relevant to them and help them see the benefit derived from mastering a subject area. I believe in inquiry based learning, or teaching any subject by incorporating the student's natural curiosity and drawing connections to their interests. I don't taking a long time to teach a student how to approach a single problem or concept and foster their understanding of the material so that they will understand how to approach the problem on their own. In other words, I put energy into explaining why they should do something so that they can reason through it themselves in a test situation.
