My comments on tutoring Literature : Qualified in this subject by WyzAnt. As an avid reader of classic and modern literature, I am well versed in both American and European literature. At one time I obtained a bookmark from Barnes and Noble Bookstore which listed the 100 most admired works of literature. I had read 86 of those listed.

For the greater part of my life I have been involved in various facets of education. I have acted as substitute teacher at the middle and high school levels for a total of 10 years, 8 of which were spent at 12 schools in Vermont and 2 at 10 schools in Hernando County FL. In my experience, I do not teach but simply assist people who need it. In college I helped my friends by explaining how to correct their writing, and offering advice. I am patient and willing to help as best as I can without being condescending towards students.

I earned my BA in 1989 in Texas. I moved to Florida in 1990 and realized I wanted to be a teacher. My local community college, however, did not offer any courses to help my earn a teaching certification. Then I read an article in my local newspaper three years ago.
