I was an elementary education major for 2.5 years before following my specific passion to writing and literature in my Junior year to finish up school. I graduated with a 3.35 QPA from Slippery Rock University in May of 2015! I have completed reading instructional courses in K-6th elementary education as well as courses in literature and reading assessment. I also have experience working with many high-and-low-incidence disabilities such as children who are deaf or blind, have Down Syndrome, Autism Spectrum Disorders, or Aspberger's disorders as well.

There is not one teaching style that works for everyone. Making the subjects fun and exciting is a great way to get the students engaged. Everyone has different ways of learning and finding that niche will enable that student to be confident when it comes to learning anything. A student's outlook dictates how they relate to a certain subject. Breaking the mindset that it is too difficult or overwhelming are all mental. I was the valedictorian of my graduating high school class and one of the top high school math and science students in the nation, but I was not always a stellar student. For instance, I received a “D” in math in the second grade. I attribute my transformation to an "A" student at least partially to my third grade teacher in whose class my math grades improved dramatically and I jumped from the lowest to the highest reading group.
