I hold a bachelor degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Marketing. I majored in Elementary Education for two years before I switched majors. I started a master degree program in International Relations in 2009 and decided to return to school in the fall for a master's degree in social work. I am a strong proponent of self-directed learning. The best retention of material and new skills comes when a student finds the subject engaging and is able to relate the subject to their own experiences, passions, and goals. All people learn differently; therefore, it is helpful when a student is able to learn particular methods and study skills that will continue to benefit their future learning.
