My experience working with children is in the area of those with mental health issues, most of which have learning disabilities as well. I love my work and I love children. I believe that all children can learn when you consider what kind of learner they are. I believe that most children have to experience learning through many facets; hearing, touching, seeing and discovery. I also believe that children need to be empowered to learn so that through daily activity their confidence and self-esteem is cultivated, nurtured so that potential can be met and possibly exceeded. Being exposed and working at different school districts and states allowed me to learn different styles, therefore, I was able to evaluate what works and adapt the techniques to my own style. Education allowed me to learn techniques and I do claim that I was successful leading a classroom and learning was achieved by my studens. I do believe that education is always open for improvement. I learned teaching and assessment techniques and I learned to modify teaching style according to students needs.
I have ten years experience working as a substitute teacher for the public school system, in Pennsylvania and New Jersey, I also have there years experience working as a tutor in the state of New York, one to one, with failing students, teaching reading and math to students that range from K to 12th grade.
