I have been involved with the field of performing arts for over 15 years. Itrained with the former head of Vocal Performance at Florida State prior to competing in the Miss Florida Pageant. I also trained in ballet and gymnastics at The Ron Gallimore Olympic trainign Center. My back ground in the fields of dance and vocal performance have led to many exciting opportunities. I am an accomplished songwriter who has copy written works registerd with the US patent office. I am a very hands on and visual teacher that believes the best way to learn is by seeing and doing things yourself. I began my higher education at Tallahassee Community College in 1997. After receiving my AA Degree I transferred to F.S.U where I majored in Criminology with a minor in Spanish and graduated in 2003. Since that time, I've worked as a legal assistant/paralegal with different law firms in town. Recently, I decided to return to school and received my certificate in Massage Therapy. The thing I love most about teaching is opening up someones eyes to something new and seeing the "wow" look on their faces. Sometimes certain subject matter is not always easy for a person to learn. I've always appreciated the teacher that went out of their way with a great amount of patience to make sure I understood. I love working with children of all ages. I really like elementary age children. I have a hands-on approach to education. I was employed by the Interior Design department at FSU to teach undergraduate courses, being an instructor of record for the inital course for the department, Design Fundamentals. I have a passion for teaching and learning- it runs in the family as my husband is a middle school science and math teacher. Our parents are lifelong edcuators in Wakulla County.
