Experience Summary
I have earned an AA at a Junior college in Jacksonville, Fl. While in attendance I volunteered to assist high school students, attending college, and prospective college students in multiple academic subjects. I am very familiar with test prep material such as GED,CPT, and FCAT. I have mainly tutored in the areas of math, reading, english, literature, and some areas of science. After obtaining an AA I then transferred to Florida State University to obtain a BA degree in Social Science. Florida State has made me a true believer of hard work. I have volunteered at many organizations as a tutor, cheer, dance, and football coach with Pop Warner associations, Daniel Memorial, and the Police Athletic League (PAL).
Teaching Style
I am a firm believer of not having one particular teaching style. Every student process information differently. This is why I strongly believe in adapting to the student needs. I am firm believer of patients and determination. I myself have had multiple tutors during my grade school years. My experience as a student needing a tutor introduced me to multiple teaching styles. In example as an elementary student, I did not work well with disciplinarian tutors. As a high school student a tutor that was “straight to the point” allowed me not to slack or give up to quickly. I am a very encouraging and approachable tutor.
