My teaching philosophy is focused on teachers being facilitators for students to construct their own knowledge and making learning relevant and purposeful to the students. When teaching, I think about each student's individual learning styles and adapt my lessons to fit those needs. I really try to make learning fun and make sure students understand why they are learning something. I feel that with those things in place, they will be more motivated to learn and continue to learn throughout their lives. That motivation enables students to think at higher levels and become independent thinkers.
I attended SUNY Oneonta to attain a B.S. in Elementary Education. I had a concentration in General Science, so I have a broad knowledge-base of the subject.
