A Little Bit About Me...

I am certified in Elementary Education as well as Specific Learning Disabilites with twenty four years experience. I have taught first grade for three years, third grade for nine years, and special education resource for twelve years. My special education experiences includes grades 1-8, inclusion, and writing web-based IEp's. Teaching has been my life--I give everything I can to the students I work with--enthusiasm, positive support, and preparation to the work study area.
My teaching style is based on positive feedback and reinforcement as well as using every means available in order to get a concept oover to a student. After graduated with a BS in Agriculture Economics from Alcorn State University in May 2000, I have worked as an Agricultural Statistician for the National Agricultural Statistics Service. While working with NASS, I have taking a creative writing class to improve my writing ability. I have also taking Calculus I, II, and III to build on my math skills. I am on track to receive a master’s in Management at Belhaven University in July of 2010. During the past 10 years I have tutored students in mathematics at the college, high school, and elementary levels.
