For the past year I have worked as a Software Trainer for the Finance department functions such as Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable. I have aways been driven to master new educational challenges and enjoy coaching and training others. I have tutored Basic and Advanced Accounting at the college level a semester when in Memphis, TN. I excel in Accounting, English and Math to include Basic and Advanced Algebra. I have also worked indirectly with elementary and junior high school aged students. I love to be able to pass along knowledge, which brings a sense of accomplishment and success to others of all ages. Teaching accounting is my passion. Out of all the subjects that I teach, I prefer accounting applications. I am an advisor for FBLA, "Future Business Leaders of America" where many of my students compete in accounting concepts. My teaching style is whatever best fits the student. When working one on one with a student I practice a few different methods of teaching and whichever one they feel the most comfortable with and I receive the most attentiveness from, is the one that I continue to use. For example, some students prefer that you walk them through a lesson, go over a few practice problems and then let them work on assignments, knowing that they have you to assist them when needed. Others might want to jump into the assignment and when a question arises, they ask you to refer to the lesson to help them find the solution. I earned my B.A. in English Literature from the University of Arkansas in 2004. While enrolled in Spanish classes, I volunteered with the Amigos Program. I was assigned to students whose parents spoke little or no English and were unable to help with homework. I helped students practice for spelling tests and improve their reading skills.
