Love Kids, Love Writing.

I believe each student is different; therefore, I change how I approach my teachings based upon the individual.
In high school, I was on our school's speech team, I competed at the varsity level all throughout high school. I placed at every competetion, without fail. I placed in advanced English classes in high school, and tested in to the second level of English classes at Western Illinois University my freshman year. I have won state wide writing competetions, and have a poem published in a book of young writers. I went to school for Journalism and Communications, but am currently taking a year off. I have also taken and passed the Illinois basic skills test, and took 2 years of Special Education courses at Western Illinois University.

I prefer to see what the learning style of the student is and then adapt my teaching style to the student.
I was an in-school suspension teacher for two years at Durand High and Middle School, helping students get caught up on their pre-algebra, social studies, science, English and Spanish homework. Previously to becoming a teacher I worked in industry as a project manager or assistant for different companies, using Spanish occasionally. I student taught in 2004 at Hononegah HS, one semester at Auburn High School before being hired at Durand High School. A Little Bit About Me...

As a graduate from Briar Cliff College, I have always enjoyed learning and wanting to help others succeed. I have earned a BA degree in Elementary Education, in which I have taught in the classroom for 2 years, but have also taught at a learning center for a total of 5 years. While in college, I participated in the AmeriCorps tutoring program, in which I privately tutored a few students, along with students in a school setting during the day.
