My comments on tutoring Elementary Math : I am currently helping homeschool a 7th grader in math, and I’m really enjoying the review! My student and I often explore problems together, which she says helps her better understand the skill. Would love to tutor more math!

I graduated with my Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education from UNC-Wilmington. I taught first and second grades for ten years in the classroom. While teaching, I returned to school to receive my Master's Degree in Reading (k-12) and certification as a Reading Specialist. I worked as a Reading Teacher for five years, focusing on grades first through third. I also served as a K-2 Instructional Coach. I have enjoyed guiding children through the stages of reading, beginning with letter recognition and book and print awareness, to successfully completing End of Grade tests. My most recent experience has been helping teach a couple students being homeschooled! What an exciting experience! Unfortunately, the family is moving out of state. I am currently a senior in high school and will graduate in the spring of 2013; I have no job experience, but have worked with tutoring my nieces and nephews. I was a ABA therapist for a company around the Fort Campbell, Ky area for over a year. I worked with special needs children, emphasis on autism.
